SFTARC's annual POTA operation form the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve near Strong City, KS.  All-day event.  

I estimate that 75% of the event coordination will be via email, 20% via Saturday morning breakfasts and maybe 5% via a 2m net on 147.195 MHz + a day or two before the event.

Here is what the planned May 17^th timeline looks like:

• 5:50 am, I-35 Exit 207, Gardner, meet at the Philips 66 Station (NW of the intersection) and form carpools
  • Talk-in 147.195 MHz repeater, + offset
  • You are welcome to drive by yourself on your own timetable if that works best into your schedule.
• 6:00 am, Depart Gardner
  • Convoy Freq 146.550 MHz simplex
• Stop for a breakfast at Beto Junction, I-35 and Hwy 75
• 8:40 am Expected arrival at Tallgrass; stive for no later than 9 am.
• The goal is to be on the air at about 10:00 am
  • If the weather is favorable, we’d operate outdoors, if not so favorable, we’ll be inside a barn.
• Operate until 2 or 3 pm
• Tear down 1 hr
• Return trip with an ice-cream stop at Braum’s in Emporia 2+ hrs

Stations:

• Two SSB stations
• One CW station
• Each station has a laptop with N3FJP AC Log SW
• The Tallgrass provides the tables and chairs
